This is computer era. Computers are now need of every one. From massaging to chatting, listening to viewing, education to job, service to business, saving to shopping, home to hospital, shop to industry, trading to manufacturing, employee to investor every where and every one is using computers.

What is Computer?
Computer is an electronic machine, which accepts data and information through its input devices, process it and provide result in desired form through its output devices.According to above definition, computers have three types of devices:
* Input devices
* Processing devices and
* Output devices
Instead of these, computers need data to process and provide results.
Computer Hardware and Software
Computer system includes hardware and software both.Hardware : Physical parts of computer, which can be touched and seen are termed as hardware.
Software : A set of instruction and progrmmes for processing data and desired results, provided to computers are termed as Software.
Types of Computers
Computers can be classified into three types:* Analog computer
* Digital computer and
* Hybrid computer
Alalog Computer: Computers which accepts signals through their input devices are analog computers. For example thermometer, speedometer etc.
Digital Computer: Computers which accepts digits and alphabets through their input devices are digital computers.
Hybrid Computer: Computers which accepts signals as well as digits and alphabets through their input devices are hybrid computers.
Here we will discuss about digital computers.
Accoring to capacity digital computers are classified into following three types:
* Mainframe Computers
* Mini Computers
* Micro Computers
